P-Day FINALLY hear from Elder Atkinson!!
Hey I don't have a lot of time.
So the plane had to fill up with fuel for the trip and left an hour late. Then when I finally got here bloody delta goes and changes my flight from 8 am to 2 pm. So I waited in the airport for the whole day. Finally got to fly to Adelaide. It was absolutely beautiful! Ill send some pictures soon. Its been a super long week it was very weird I haven't done much... I had to stay in Adelaide until Saturday and I legally cant Proselyte in Adelaide without a permit so I had to stay at the Mission office. I helped one of the senior missionary fix bikes all day.
I love it here my companion is Elder Taleo. Ill let you know more about him next week.
I love it here in Malak! Its absolutely beautiful! I love it here! The weather is great and the animals are very weird. I have only seen a couple geckos so far. No snakes but their are a lot of strange birds here. I will try and pet the monitor lizard but I have to find one... Yes I am looking out for one. I'll let you know how things are going next week! I haven't done much here yet.

Adelaide mission!
I received this last night from a wonderful Couple serving in his mission...
then when I woke up this morning I had this in my email from the mission office
"Dear Family, 22 June 2016
Elder Atkinson has arrived in the Australia Adelaide Mission safely. Sister Parker and I are mindful of the great trust you have placed in us by sharing your son. When he arrived, we met him at the airport and he was taken to the mission office to be introduced to the office staff and assistants. The following day he participated with the rest of his intake in orientation, photographs and interviews. Our interview was followed by dinner and testimonies at the local church building with the other arrivers and senior couple missionary staff.
Elder Atkinson’s companion is Elder Taleo from Port Vila, Vanuatu. They are serving in the Malak area of the Darwin Zone. We are including a picture of Elder Atkinson with President and Sister Parker.
PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL MAIL (including PACKAGES) IS TO BE SENT TO:
Australia Adelaide Mission Office
ELDER TY ATKINSON
PO Box 97
Marden SA 5070 Australia
I am aware that the Lord blesses, in many special ways, the families of missionaries. As your son serves, you will find that to be very true. Your support is greatly appreciated.
Missionaries are allowed to send and receive email from family and limited friends only. They check their emails at the local library on preparation day, which is usually Monday.
Warmest Regards,
President R. Jeffrey Parker

one of THOSE moms...
No word.... so I had to be one of those moms: June 21 at 9:15pm
Poor Elder TY!! what a long long trip!
so here is the breakdown in Utah time.
he left from Phoenix Arizona Monday June 20 at 07:21pm Arrived in L.A. 08:29pm
Left L.A Monday June 20 at 12:30am arrived in Sydney Tuesday June 21 3:10pm (which in Australia time it is Wednesday June 22 at 7:10am)
Left Sydney Tuesday 11:27pm Arrived Wednesday June 22 at 1:42am (Australia time is Wednesday June 22 at 4:42pm)
Totals: our time was 30 hr 21 mins but for time changes it was 45 hrs 51 minutes!!!
he is 15.5 hrs ahead of us.. yes it is confusing! I have an alarm clock with date on time set for Australian time, working on a plaque to display it.
I bet he is excited yet exhausted! but I'm SO glad he finally made it to the land down under! and we can't wait to hear from him!!
