P-Day FINALLY hear from Elder Atkinson!!

Hey I don't have a lot of time.
So the plane had to fill up with fuel for the trip and left an hour late. Then when I finally got here bloody delta goes and changes my flight from 8 am to 2 pm. So I waited in the airport for the whole day. Finally got to fly to Adelaide. It was absolutely beautiful! Ill send some pictures soon. Its been a super long week it was very weird I haven't done much... I had to stay in Adelaide until Saturday and I legally cant Proselyte in Adelaide without a permit so I had to stay at the Mission office. I helped one of the senior missionary fix bikes all day.

I love it here my companion is Elder Taleo. Ill let you know more about him next week.

I love it here in Malak! Its absolutely beautiful! I love it here! The weather is great and the animals are very weird. I have only seen a couple geckos so far. No snakes but their are a lot of strange birds here. I will try and pet the monitor lizard but I have to find one... Yes I am looking out for one. I'll let you know how things are going next week! I haven't done much here yet.

I received this last night from a wonderful Couple serving in his mission...

then when I woke up this morning I had this in my email from the mission office

"Dear Family,                                                                                       22 June 2016

Elder Atkinson has arrived in the Australia Adelaide Mission safely. Sister Parker and I are mindful of the great trust you have placed in us by sharing your son. When he arrived, we met him at the airport and he was taken to the mission office to be introduced to the office staff and assistants. The following day he participated with the rest of his intake in orientation, photographs and interviews. Our interview was followed by dinner and testimonies at the local church building with the other arrivers and senior couple missionary staff.

Elder Atkinson’s companion is Elder Taleo from Port Vila, Vanuatu. They are serving in the Malak area of the Darwin Zone. We are including a picture of Elder Atkinson with President and Sister Parker.

I am aware that the Lord blesses, in many special ways, the families of missionaries. As your son serves, you will find that to be very true. Your support is greatly appreciated.

Missionaries are allowed to send and receive email from family and limited friends only. They check their emails at the local library on preparation day, which is usually Monday.
Warmest Regards,

President R. Jeffrey Parker

Gift from the Zone Leaders Elder Allred and Elder Baker!

Week 6.. but really week 9 lol so will start from date going into M.T.C.

This week has been amazing! We had a lesson for almost every hour. We have been meeting a lot of great people. We have 6 people on date for Baptism! The one last week got pushed back because he wants to invite his mom and have us teach her. He is going to be baptized this coming Saturday!

I love it here! But it is so hot! I am so ready for winter! We got a call from the Assistants and they are impressed on how well our area is doing. They said it usually takes 2 to 3 transfers to clean up an much as we had too. We had a lesson every hour so we biked a lot. It is sad when you are biking and you aren't sweating. All the moisture here is sucked right up. Love you I'll call y'all tonight!

what a good looking group.. but notice Elder Atkinson is the only one NOT wearing his suit jacket =)

Times almost up in Arizona... week 5

Good afternoon Mom!
All is good here in Maricopa! We had a Mission President Devotional last night. It was amazing! I love my Mission President! President Toone was the head BYU institute teacher. He is huge! He is about 7'2! He's drawing to the end of his time out here, he returns home on the 29th. He told me last night that I'm his missionary and the Parkers can't claim me completely. I love the People here in Arizona! They are a little different, you kinda have to be to live in a oven. When you ride your bike it feels like you opened a oven set to 350, then you grab a hair dryer put it on high, and stick your head in the oven. The wind is dry and hot. But I've lost 15 pounds and biking 4 and a half miles only takes is 15 minutes. And the best part! We don't feel like we are going to die anymore!
Our investigator on date is still looking good! He is excited and he got the new job he wanted! He gave his mom a copy of The Book of Mormon! He asked us how he can plant a seed in his mom! (We read Alma 32 with him!) His wife is a huge help! She is helping him every step of the way! He calls her dad and asks him questions about what he read! He got a blessing from his father in law! He has a strong testimony! He should have been baptized a couple months ago.
Oh I meet the Elders that destroyed my Area last night.... Elder _____ and Elder ____. It's not hard to tell that they don't care and are destroying their new area.
Elder Cahoon and I are like twins, we have been talking a lot and we found out that we have very similar interests. We love Jeeps, classic cars, classic rock, fishing, hunting, sports, lord of the rings, Star Wars, woodworking, and a lot more! We get along really well. He's been out for a year and I'm the second companion he gets along with.
Oh we saw a old stingray split window the other day! We pulled over and soaked in its beauty, along with a old Cj and old bug. We probably looked like idiots but it was so worth it!
I don't need anything else. I don't know when I'll fly out all I know is they have my passport. Got to go bye!

Think last week was hot? try 120 F (Week 4)

Well everything is good down here! It's been 120 all week. It's been pretty cool down here.

We have a investigator who is on date for the 18th. He is excited for his baptism and is stoked to go to the temple with his wife and family! His wife is a member. He is super cool and a great guy. He played minor league hockey. He is a huge sharks fan but the Penguins are destroying the Sharks from what he talks about. We looked up the distance to our area and it's 4 and a half miles. We have cut down our travel time by ten minutes. It's been a lot of work and our legs are ripped but it's so worth it!

I knew you would kill the tree. That's cool that you getting a flag pole! Now you need a Arizona, Northern Territory, and Southern Territory flag!

Well I love you. Got to go! Tell dad to tell the youth Hi for me!
